We periodically retire products and services at the end of their lifecycle to ensure our offerings remain secure, efficient, and aligned with market trends. This document outlines our End-of-Life (EOL) policy,including key stages and timelines to help customers plan effectively.
Key Stages of the End-of-Life Process

End-of-Life Announcement (EOLA):

a. Definition: The formal notification that a product or service is entering its End-of-Life journey.

b. Impact: Customers are informed of the product's retirement timeline, including key dates for the end of support and other milestones.

End of Sale (EOS):

a. Definition: The date the product or service is unavailable for purchase.

b. Impact: New licenses, subscriptions, or hardware units will not be sold, although existing customers may continue to use the product.

End of Engineering (EOE):

a. Definition: The point at which no further engineering or development efforts will be made for the product.

b. Impact: No new features, enhancements, or bug fixes will be released after this date.Security updates may still be provided until the End of Support.

End of Support (EOSP):

a. Definition: The final date on which technical support, security updates, and other maintenance services will be provided.

b. Impact: The product is no longer supported, and customers are encouraged to transition to alternative solutions.

End of Life (EOL):

a. Definition: The final stage in the lifecycle, marking the complete discontinuation of the product.

b. Impact: The product is no longer maintained, supported, or available for use.Customers must have fully migrated to an alternative solution.

Terminology Reference

Release Date

The release date is the day when a new product is officially made available for customers to use or purchase.

  • Major Release: The first release of the year is considered the major release (e.g., 4.0, 5.0). It is a stable version that customers can continue using until the next major release.
  • Quarterly Feature Releases: These releases (e.g., 4.1, 4.2) include new features and bug fixes, providing incremental improvements to the product.
  • Service Pack (SP) Release: SP releases focus on bug fixes and are usually hotfixes for specific customers (e.g., 4.1 SP1).

End-of-Life Announcements (EOLA)

An End-of-Life Announcement (EOLA) is the formal notification that a product or service will enter its End-of-Life phase. It informs customers about the product's retirement timeline, key dates for the end of support, and other important milestones, allowing them to plan for upgrades or replacements.

End of Engineering (EOE)

The point at which no further engineering or development efforts will be made for the product. No new features, enhancements, or bug fixes will be released after this date. Security updates may still be provided until the End of Support.

End of Sale (EOS)

EOS the date the product or service is unavailable for purchase. After this date, customers can no longer order the product, though existing customers may continue to use it, and support or service may continue until the product reaches its End-of-Life.

End of Life (EOL)

The final stage in the lifecycle, marking the complete discontinuation of the product. After this point, the product will not receive feature or security updates, bug fixes or official technical support. Customers are encouraged to upgrade or replace it with a newer version.
